CELEBRATING 20 YEARS OF TREKEN.

From resellers of hardware & software to proudly becoming a Microsoft Partner, Treken has spent the last 20 years successfully navigating and adapting to the everchanging and ever-advancing IT and telecommunications landscape. We’re so proud of the journey we’ve been on, so we wanted to take this time to take a look back at our history, and to show you why you should trust in Treken as your Managed Service Provider.

Where it all began.

Treken was founded in 2002 by Trevor and Ken (see how we came up with ‘Treken’ there?). We’d previously worked together at a local IT support company, and had a vision of setting up our own IT company which serviced the local SME market. This company would offer products tailored to the needs of the SME customer, rather than overselling products the customer doesn’t need.

Taking this honest approach to business has certainly worked. With fantastic longstanding clients (some 15 years!), a healthy turnover, and a growing, dedicated team, Treken is one of the south’s leading IT support businesses – and we’re so keen to see where our future takes us.

 

 

Key events in Treken’s history.

Treken 20 years of History

 

July 2002 – Treken wins its first IT support contract with a company Trevor had previously worked at full time. This company stayed with us for 15 years, only leaving as they were acquired by an American company that brought in its own IT department and functions

September 2002 – First server solution sold to a local home care company

October 2002 – Treken begins reselling broadband products (ADSL) via Southampton-based iZR Solutions

January 2003 –  We assist with a number of rollouts/projects for a local authority. This carries on until 2007, during which time we take on our first additional employees to cope with the extra work and our expanding business

May 2004 – We move from a home based office, to our first office within Discovery Court

July 2004 – One of our contractors becomes our first full-time employee

September 2004 – We onboard several new customers from Rightclick IT upon the company closing down

July 2005 – We take on our second permanent employee

April 2007 – We move to a bigger office

December 2007 – We celebrate achieving our first £500K turnover year

June 2009 – Treken becomes one of the first Draytek Advanced Networking Partners in UK

June 2010 – Our new logo is launched!

January 2011 – We extend our existing office space to accommodate our growing team

February 2011 – We carry out our first 3CX VoIP sale and installation

July 2011 – Treken is awarded Microsoft Silver Partner status after several years of being a Certified Microsoft Partner

November 2013 – The arrival of the first Treken van

December 2014 – We smash through our £1m turnover target

June 2020 – Treken becomes a Microsoft Partner – an accolade that recognises ‘best-in-class capability’

June 2022 – Treken celebrates 20 years with an office photoshoot, competition, and new website imagery
