Contact - Preventative Measures

We understand there are two main routes by which COVID-19 can be transmitted:

  • Infection can be spread to people through close contact (within 2 metres) with infected individuals and respiratory droplets generated during coughing and sneezing.
  • It is also possible that someone may become infected by touching a surface, object or the hand of an infected person that has been contaminated with respiratory secretions and then touching their own mouth, nose, or eyes (such as touching a door knob or shaking hands then touching own face).

In response to the above Treken have requested

Team members in the field:

  • Please avoid shaking hands with the customer and if a hand is extended please politely decline whilst maintaining eye contact.
  • Stand 2 metres away from other people wherever feasible to do so.
  • Wash your hands in line with the recommended techniques at all opportunities.
  • Use Treken issued hand sanitiser when access to a sink and hand wash is not available.
  • Use Treken issued disposable gloves when working at customer workstations or handling customer hardware.  We trust our customers will not take offence to this measure.

Team members in the office:

  • Please avoid shaking hands with any visitor, and if a hand is extended please politely decline whilst maintaining eye contact.
  • Wash your hands in line with the recommended techniques at all opportunities.
  • When re-entering the Treken office, please use hand sanitiser which has been placed in the office area and the workshop.
  • Use Treken issued disposable gloves when handling customer hardware.

Engineer Site Visits

Treken are now limiting site visits wherever possible to minimise risks to our staff and customers.

  • to carry out essential/critical work only, at Treken’s discretion
  • ask questions prior to the visit, for example:
    • is anyone on the site classed as a high-risk for COVID-19
    • has anyone on the site recently returned from a country with international concern
    • are any staff from the site self-isolating

In an event of a lockdown we will cease all on-site activity.

Business Continuity

We invoked our business continuity plans on Thursday 19th March 2020. We are committed to ensuring that service delivery is not disrupted during this time, with minimal noticeable difference to customers.

  • All staff have been issued with Company laptops
  • All business-critical applications are cloud based, with additional security in place for working outside of the Treken office.  This includes email, helpdesk, phone system, remote management and monitoring
  • Our phone system is fully cloud based, staff working from home will use “soft phones” and headsets.  Incoming call routing will be unaffected, you will be able to reach us as normal.
  • Treken staff will maintain team communication via Microsoft Teams, telephone and email
  • New deliveries from our suppliers will be re-routed to an alternative address

Confirmed Cases

If a member of staff has suspected, or a confirmed case of COVID-19, they will be requested to self-isolate and follow current government advice.

Monitoring the Situation

Treken Directors will review the situation on a daily basis or following a significant internal or external event in relation to COVID-19.  We will assess:

  • Latest government guidelines
  • Reported / related absences
  • Supply chain status and updates
